PROJECT FACTS
Exposed Structure Concept
This one-story with mezzanine office building utilizes strategic use of exposed structure for aesthetics and to minimize costs. The building uses a gravity load system of structural steel framing with exposed wood deck. Lateral loads are resisted by wood shear panels on the curtainwall stud framing.
Deck spans were optimized to utilize a layout of random lap continuous spans with single ply (1 ½”) tongue and groove boards. To achieve a lateral load resisting diaphragm the roof deck with overlaid with a layer of APA sheathing. The steel frame was detailed for cleanliness and consistency using all bolted connections.
